Frequently Asked Questions

CUSTOMER EXPECTATION LIST

Dayus Roofing realizes the value of customer satisfaction. We want you to know what can be expected when we are re-roofing your home. The following items are noted to make you aware of some inconveniences which we will attempt to minimize, and to prevent any misunderstanding.

  1. WORK ORDERS
  2. The work order for your job is actually your contract description. Please make sure all items you and your salesperson discussed are listed on the contract. If it is not on your contract, it will not be done.

  3. SIGN
  4. Dayus Roofing will place a sign on your lawn. We are proud of our work and this is a very effective way for us to advertise. Much of our work also comes from referrals.

  5. ACCESS
  6. Dayus Roofing assumes that we are able to utilize driveways, walkways and other yard accesses as required to re-roof your home. The owner fully releases Dayus Roofing from damage resulting from general use of driveways, walkways etc. We also may require access to neighbours’ property in some areas and ask you to notify them.

  7. TREES & BUSHES
  8. Dayus Roofing may have to trim back branches if they are too low hanging to your roof and limit the workers ability to work effectively. If the tree shape is important, we recommend that you have it trimmed before the job begins.

  9. HANGING FIXTURES AND/OR DELICATE ITEMS
  10. Dayus Roofing recommends you check all hanging items and/or delicate items you have in the house to ensure they are secure. If in doubt, take them down, as we cannot assume responsibility for damage to them as a result of re-roofing.

  11. ATTIC & GARAGE PROTECTION
  12. When re-roofing, some debris may fall through the sheathing boards. Dust also will be created. Dayus Roofing suggests the covering or removal of any items which require protection. The cleaning up of this minimal debris is your responsibility.

  13. CLEAN UP
  14. Dayus Roofing will take all debris away. The garden and lawns will be raked to remove debris and the walkways and driveways will be swept as required. You may find small pieces of shingle, shingle granules or the odd roofing nail.

  15. WOOD DECK
  16. Dayus Roofing will bring to your attention, if possible at the time of discovery, any hidden defects to the wood deck or framing. The company must carry out repairs required that would impair the re-roofing job. These repairs will be done on a time and materials basis.

  17. ROOFING TO SIDING JUNCTION
When several layers of roofing are removed, there often is a gap created between the siding and the new roof. Also, caulking marks may not be able to be removed from siding.

 10. CATHEDRAL CEILINGS

Please inform Dayus Roofing if you have cathedral ceilings. We will attempt to keep the vibrations to a minimum but we cannot assume responsibility to cracking of the ceiling.

 11. ANTENNAS / SATELLITES

Dayus Roofing will remove and re-install antennas and satellite dishes. We will not be responsible for physical damage or poor reception of the re-installed unit. It may require realigning and new guide wires

  1. SOLAR PANELS
  2. The homeowner must be responsible for the removal and replacement of solar panels to accommodate the installation of the new roof.

  3. EXCESS MATERIAL
Dayus Roofing will normally set out extra material to ensure that we do not run short when re-roofing. This surplus material remains the property of Dayus Roofing.
